Mr. Conrad was my fifth grade teacher at Garden Street. I am in my 50s now and he is one of only a few elementary school teachers I remember. He was a kind, caring person and a skilled educator. Everyone wanted him as a teacher. I am a better person because I am one of those who did.

My all time favorite teacher at Garden Street. I loved listening to his stories on baseball; especially Casey at the Bat. He'd walk around the classroom with his thumbs in the belt loops of his pants. He was so animated. I will forever love that man. He helped me more than any other.

He was my 5th grade teacher at Garden Street school…I was a new student that year…he made me feel at home. That made my transition a lot easier! Lots of prayers for his loved ones.

Our condolences go out to the Conrad family. Our families were friends for many years, through the Danbury education system and the Industrial League Softball teams. Our father always enjoyed playing in the Sunday morning softball games in Rogers Park with Mr. Conrad. Those were fun times for all. Our hearts go out to Mrs. Conrad and the entire Conrad family. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
In Caring Sympathy,
Kim, Kris, and Sue Caterson

Mr. Conrad was my 5th grade teacher at Garden St. School. We loved it when he would hit us the highest, deepest fly balls we'd ever seen! I remember his fancy sports car, too. When I grew up, he became a friend through the Danbury softball league.
This man had a great positive effect on my learning years.
His family should be proud.

I will never forget Mr. Conrad and the difference he made in my life. He was my teacher in 5th grade at Garden Street in 1982-1983. His smile was always warm and welcoming for the class and he always greeted with a hearty “Good Morning, Zuke!” before taking me in his arms and lifting me high above his head. He was unbelievably strong yet the calmest teacher in the school. He kept me on the correct path when I stepped off and I will never forget the lessons he taught me. Thank you, Mr. Conrad. I will never forget you.

To Connie and the entire Bob Conrad family, we send sincere condolences upon Bob's passing. His ability to get a "clutch" base hit was remarkable - time and time again! It was a "confidence builder" to all of us. Cherish the fond memories! God Bless! - Dave Treadwell, past Pres.of the Danbury Industrial Softball League 1969 and 1970.
