Obituary of Bonnie Peterson

Bonnie Seiler Peterson 07 February 1956 - 01 March 2023 Bonnie Beth Peterson of Brookfield, died at Glen Hill Center in Danbury after a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 68.

Bonnie was born in The Bronx, NY, to Albert and Edith Seiler on February 7th, 1955. The family moved to Sherman, CT, in 1956. She attended The Sherman School and, in 1973, she graduated from New Milford High School. Bonnie’s great passion was for the piano. She was blessed with perfect pitch and was on track to becoming a classical concert pianist. A diagnosis of MS put an end to that ambition. But, undeterred, Bonnie adapted her love for the piano and her mastery of music theory to become a much respected and beloved piano teacher in Brookfield. Over the course of more than 20 years, Bonnie taught several hundred children and adults to play and to love the piano. Bonnie’s other passion was for cats. "From the very first time I saw a furry, adorable little kitten — I was about 3 years old — I was enchanted. I knew I had to have one and that I’d never be without one." She’s had a pet cat ever since. In 1974, Bonnie married the late Patrick Peterson of Danbury. They were married for 17 years, and had a son, Eric, who passed away shortly after being born. Bonnie is survived by her sister, Robin Sherrod of Shelton, CT, and by her nephews Jason, Adam and Michael Polaski and their families.

No memorial services are planned at this time.

Those wishing to honor Bonnie’s life are asked to make a donation in her name to the National MS Society.
