Obituary of Antonio Butera

Please share a memory of Antonio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Antonio “Tony” Butera, of Danbury, cherished husband of Olga (Fiore) Butera, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, February 19th.  He was born in Platania, Italy on August 6, 1942, son of the late Natale and Maria (Nettuno) Butera.

He was lovingly known by most as “Tony the tile man,” because of his many years working as a tile setter.

In addition to his beloved wife, Olga, he will be sadly missed by his son, Anthony Paul Butera; his three grandchildren, Antonio, Letizia and Victoria Butera.  He is also survived by his sister, Cathy Civitarese; his sister-in-law, Mary Butera; and many nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael, John and Felix Butera; and his sisters, Maria Angela Perri, and Frances Cerminara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 24th at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury.  Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Gregory the Great Church, or Catholic Charities.
