Dear Richard, Dory, Paula, Amy, and Matt,
I’ve been thinking of your Dad and remembered a story he told me a half dozen years ago. He had been playing a game of Hearts on his computer, which he had won. The computer-generated players all lost, with their scores all over one hundred, and he had won with the score of ninety-nine. He was so amazed at winning with that particular score.
Thinking back at that story, I hope he realized, that he had also won our Hearts for all of his ninety-nine years.
We all experience loss, and for many, time softens the hurt and allows our cherished memories to last forever. I hope that is so for you.
Even knowing he is in Heaven with so many of his loved ones, he will be missed.
I’m so sorry for your loss,
Ron Gelineau

Dear Richard, Dory, Paula, Amy, and Matt,
I always thought of your dad as my mom’s big brother. Maybe that’s because that’s the way she always thought of him – as her protector. He took on that responsibility ever since they were teenagers and he became the “man of the house”. Even in my mom’s later years when she wasn’t able to communicate, he would call to check on her and offer Ron and me his support. I have an enormous amount of love, respect and gratitude for him. It seems fitting that they be at rest near each other. Forever the guardian.
I will miss him, his teasing sense of humor and knowing smile dearly! Your dad was a very special person, who was very much loved.
My love and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Love, Patrice

Richard, Dory, Paula, Amy, Matt and your families. We are so sad to hear of your dads passing. I have considered myself so very fortunate to call him Pa Z for many, many years. His Christmas card was always the first one we received & his was always my first one sent out. ❤ Such wonderful memories I have of him for over 50 years.... Our love & thoughts are with you all. Love- Joan & Reno ❤❤

Amy/Richard,
I have fond memories of your dad visiting with Anne and me in Atlanta. He was on his way to West Palm Beach to see the Braves spring training. We enjoyed his presence and shared many Braves stories. You are fortunate to have 90+ years of memories!
Best,
Doc
