Obituary of Kathleen Colley
Kathleen (Kathy) A. (Arconti) Colley, age 65, passed away on Friday December 30, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and colleague.
Born to the late Gino Arconti and Patricia Stork (Olmstead) on January 29, 1957, Kathy was one of six children and a lifetime Danbury resident. She graduated from Danbury High School, received an Associates degree from Bay Path College, enjoyed many years working for the Danbury Public School system, and most recently relished her work helping the professionals and families at Newtown Youth & Family Services.
Kathy’s greatest passion was her family. Her entire life was dedicated to her husband of 42 years, Arthur, and their four children and spouses – Sean and Kristen (Kaszuba), Shannon and Steven (Rountos), Bethany, and Jillian. But she derived the greatest joy from spending time with her four cherished grandchildren – James (7), Declan (6), McKenna (4), and Delaney (3). Grandma/“Nani Kath” was treasured by each of them for her endless creativity, generosity, masterful “crafting” skills, and willingness to dance and sing disco hits at the drop of a dime.
Kathy was a voracious reader, felt most at peace when at the beach, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was a proud Italian American whose love for limoncello was known by all.
Everyone she encountered experienced her generous spirit and while she will be remembered for many things, she will be remembered most of all for how deeply she loved and how intensely she cared for everyone in her life.
In addition to her husband, children, grandchildren, and countless family and friends, Kathy is survived by four siblings and their significant others whom she fiercely loved, Richard Arconti & Lisa Daly, Chris & Betty Arconti, James (Jim) & Maureen Arconti, and Mary & Will Gregory. She was also blessed to share a lifetime of memories with her brother and sisters-in-law through marriage, Karen & Bob Weinheimer, Steven & Amy Colley, Barbara & Rico Savo, and Tim & Lori Colley. She was also known fondly as “Aunt Kathy” to 21 nieces and nephews.
With her passing, Kathy is now reunited with her late father, mother, sister (Susan), and beloved in-laws Arthur & Barbara Colley; each of whom she loved and missed every single day of her life.
For family and friends fortunate enough to have known Kathy and would like to celebrate her life, a visitation will be held at Cornell Memorial Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m followed by a brief service which will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Bill Murphy officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made on Kathy’s behalf to Newtown Youth & Family Services.
