Myrna A. Barra, age 85, of Brookfield CT passed away on December 28, 2022 with her family by her side.

Myrna was born on August 28, 1937 to Stephanie (Bavetz) and Socrates A.W. Barone in Stamford CT. After Myrna graduated from Stamford High, she went on to study Nursing and Business Administration. In 1957, Myrna married Gerald G. Barra and had three children and seven grandchildren.

Myrna was predeceased by her husband, Gerald G. Barra, parents Stephanie (Stella) and Socrates Barone, and grandson Michael Gagliardi. Myrna is survived by her children Arlene Barra (husband John Morris Jr.) of Brookfield CT, Nancy Barra (husband William Jones) and Mark Barra (wife Carol Gemayel-Barra) both of Sandy Hook CT along with her grandchildren Megan Gagliardi, Christopher Morris, Rachel Morris, Shannon Barra-Lopez, Matthew Barra, and Alexis Barra; her sister Arlene McAuliffe (husband Terrence McAuliffe) of Middlebury CT,  brother Ronald Barone (wife Beverly Barone) of Scottsdale AZ; companion Dennis Kubisek of Danbury CT, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Myrna loved photography, travel, was an avid reader, and her biggest joy was being with her family. She was courageous, strong, spiritual, and supportive and positively impacted many lives. Myrna embodied humility, compassion, kindness, and love; her family and faith were the center of her world. Everyone she encountered experienced her generous spirit and while she will be remembered for many things, she will be remembered most of all for how deeply she loved her family and  how intensely she cared for everyone in her life. Myrna Barra will be greatly missed, she is a blessing from God, and will be forever loved.
