Obituary of James F. Rothe

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James Francis Rothe, 49, beloved son, brother, and friend to so many in the Brookfield area, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.  Jimmy was born in Danbury Hospital on October 25, 1972, the son of the late Dennis W. and Diane (Dillon) Rothe. He attended Brookfield High School where he played football and was a graduate of the class of 1990.

Jimmy followed in his father’s footsteps as he began his career in the sheet metal industry, working alongside him for many years at Rothe Sheet Metal, LLC.  He also spent time traveling the country and working for Hewlitt Packard with his brother, Brian. His true passion was working with his hands to shape, build or repair anything and he worked meticulously at his craft.

Jimmy will be best remembered for his tremendous heart and infectious smile, a true 'gentle giant'. He loved to coach football for Brookfield Pop Warner and would stay in touch with his players and their families for many years. While he loved and was loved by so many, his love for his dogs, Barney and Bailey, was incredible to witness.

May Jimmy rest in peace, as he endured more than his share of challenges and struggles.

He will be deeply missed by his four siblings, Deneen Rothe, Dennis Rothe and his wife, Danielle, Brian Rothe and his wife, Rachel, and Nancy Rothe; and his five nieces and nephews, Skylar, Andrew, Nicholas, Morgan and Griffin Rothe.

Funeral Services and interment in Center Cemetery, New Milford will be held privately.

The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, October 13th between the hours of 4:00 – 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Brookfield Pop Warner or Danbury Animal Welfare Society.
