
Obituary of Sr. Anne Walsh, CND
Sr. Anne Walsh, CND, (religious name Sr. St. Mary Brendan) a member of the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, died peacefully at Jewish Senior Services, Bridgeport, Connecticut, on March 29, 2022.
A native of Waterbury, CT, Sr. Anne was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and attended S.S. Peter and Paul Grade School, and Waterbury Catholic High School, graduating in 1958. A member of the CND Sisters, for 61 years, Sr. Anne professed her vows in August 1960. She served many years as a teacher and was known for her excellence as a Junior High and High School English teacher. Sr. Anne is also remembered for her many creative abilities that produced wonderful crafts and textiles. Sr. Anne served on mission for 49 years of her religious life, in: Providence, RI, Short Hills, NJ, St. Albans, VT, South Holland, IL, Bronx, NY, Waterbury, CT, and Middletown, CT. Sr. Anne retired from active ministry in 2019.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Galvin, County Waterford, Ireland and Michael Brendan Walsh, County Kerry, Ireland.
Sr. Anne Walsh, CND is survived by her sister Alice W. Rivers of Florida.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2022 - 10 AM at Sacred Heart University Chapel, Park Avenue Fairfield, Connecticut. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lake Avenue, Danbury, Connecticut 06810.
Funeral Service will be available on Zoom. Wake service will be on ZOOM, on Sunday, April 3, 2022, a 5:00 p.m. (NY Time)
