Obituary of Jean Brown

  

New Milford – Jean Brown, 90, of New Milford, widow of the late Ed “Brownie” Brown, passed away at her home on Thursday January 13, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

Daughter of the late Frank R. and Viola (Sniffin) Ginise, she was born January 23, 1931 in Stamford, CT.

Jean was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She went on many tournaments all over the United States with family and friends, bringing back many ribbons, pins, patches and trophies. She also loved shopping, cooking and camping …. and, of course, going to the casino.

But her most favorite thing of all was her family … and she had plenty!

Jean leaves behind her 4 children: son Todd Brown and wife Deb of Danbury, daughter Patty Epting of New Milford, son Robert Brown and fiancée Laurie Mastroianni of New Milford and daughter Marlene Reiske and husband Ron of Brookfield.

She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren …. And many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband Ed of over 57 years, who passed in 2006, and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Frank A. Ginise and his wife Mabel, her sister Barbara (Ginise) Morrell and her husband Raymond and her son-in-law Tom Epting Sr.

The family will receive family and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury on Friday January 21,2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. All attending are asked to please wear a Mask.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery 399 North St. Greenwich. 

We will be meeting at Cornell Memorial Home at 9:30 Saturday, leaving at 10:30. You are welcome to follow the procession to the cemetery.
