Obituary of Stuart F. Terrill, Jr.

Stuart Terrill, age 88, a lifelong resident of Brookfield CT died Thursday September 9, 2021 at Spring Village of Danbury. He was the husband of the late Janet (Niland) Terrill.

Mr. Terrill was born February 1, 1933 in Norwalk CT. He graduated from Danbury High School Class of 51’ and Hebron Academy. Stuart served our nation in The United States Army. He attended Brown University and graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He was an accountant and retired from Nuclear Services of Danbury in 1996.

Stuart was past president and a 62 year member of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department and was honored for his dedicated service to the community in 2021. He was an active Board Member of the Brookfield Historical Society and loved sharing his great memories of Brookfield’s past.

He enjoyed gardening,, golfing, watching football and spending time with his family.

Stuart is survived by his sister Janet Hoffman of Massachusetts and his brother in law Bob Jacobs of Texas along with several nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his dear friends Don and Gail Winkley and Jodi Rell.

A funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s Church, Brookfield, on Monday, September 13th at 11:00am.  Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
