Obituary of Helen Theresa Iride

New Milford – Mrs. Helen T. (Joyce) Iride, age 93, of New Milford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at the Regional Hospice in Danbury. She was the widow of Anthony J. Iride.

Mrs. Iride was born April 24, 1927 in Manhattan, New York daughter of the late Stephen W. and Ellen (Flanagan) Joyce. She was retired after working for many years as a secretary at Union Carbide, was a communicant, served as a lector for many years, and member of the Hospitality Committee at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield and enjoyed baking. 

Mrs. Iride is survived by her daughters: Theresa Iride of New Milford and Catherine Reilly and her husband Thomas of Massapequa, Long Island, her son in law: Richard Tishler of Rockville Center, Long Island, her brother: James Joyce and his wife Libby of New Jersey, 5 grandchildren: Michael, Sarah, Ricky, Bryan and Kaelin and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter: Marie Tishler, her brother: Robert Joyce, her sisters: Alice McAvoy and Ann Hickey and her son in law: Andy. 

Mrs. Iride’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday February 20, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 10 a.m. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to please register in advance on the funeral home website www.cornellmemorial.com. All current COVID 19 regulations will be strictly followed. Masks are required. Burial will be private.
