Obituary of Herbert Thomas Heinlein

Danbury – Mr. Herbert T. Heinlein, age 88, of Danbury, died Tuesday October 27, 2020 at Danbury hospital. He was the husband of Barbara Jean (Tesoriero) Heinlein.

Mr. Heinlein was born June 22, 1932 in Queens, New York son of the late Thomas and Gunda (Merzbacher) Heinlein. He was retired after working for many years as a financial manager at Sperry-Rand Corporation and was a communicant of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling and coaching basketball and baseball.

Mr. Heinlein proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Mr. Heinlein is survived by his sons: Thomas and his wife Laura of Brookfield, Timothy and his wife Beverly of New Milford, John and his wife Anne of Danbury, Peter of Danbury and Paul of Florida and his 6 grandchildren: Christine Sullivan, and her husband Chris, T.J., Melissa, Paige, Christopher and Kaitlin. He was predeceased in 1992 by his first wife Joyce Heinlein.

Mr. Heinlein’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Sunday November 1, 2020 from 3 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 2, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury. Current COVID 19 regulations will be strictly followed.
