Obituary of Michael Louis Lariccia

Michael L. Lariccia, 33, of Danbury, cherished son of Philip D. Lariccia and Micheline (Montanaro) Williams, died at his home on Monday, July 6th.  He was born on March 27, 1987, in Danbury. 

Mike worked as a sales manager for Ingersol Auto in Danbury for many years.  He was currently as salesman at Volvo of Westport. 

He was an avid golfer, and a three-time national champion go-cart driver.  His happiest moments were spent on Richter Park Golf Course, and spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his humorous, outgoing nature. 

In addition to his parents, Phil and his wife, Tania, of Danbury, and Micheline Williams and her husband, Roger, of Florida; he will be missed by his brother, Daniel Lariccia and his wife, Caroline; his sister, Niccalena Lariccia; and his nephews, Frankie Toth and Leonardo Lariccia.  He is also survived by his stepbrother, Art Marciano; his stepsister, Joyce Marciano; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. 

These are the facts, it is not a story. Mikie was one of a kind; one of the good guys with a twist of lemon.  As a student, he was on the smaller side in midle school. But I would remind him "though you be small, you be mighty." He thus ventured to prove it. Mike was energy. Now as his Mom would say, he was a sweet baby who grew into a great guy. Mike would light up a room when he entered, enjoying a few sarcastic jabs at folks just to make them laugh.  Yes, he liked to prove himself. So with all this competitive desire and energy, he channeled it by his first love which was anything to do with cars ..... Enough to have been Sales Manager for Ingersol Auto in Danbury and a Salesman at Volvo of Westport. Mike loved going fast and loved taking first place.  He proved it by winning three go-cart National Championships.  Why he didn't go into NASCAR is a good question.

Locally, Mikie could be found at his favorite haunt, Richter Park Golf Course. It was his other competitive stage on which he performed. He had a passion for the challenge of testing himself.  Mike might disagree with some of the things I have said, but again, he would love to choose sides and disagree with someone even if he really didn't have skin in the game.

But most importantly, Mikie never forgot his roots.  His time with his family was time both cherished and well spent. Mike Lariccia was a sweet baby that grew into an awsome guy.  

A graveside service will be held at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, on Thursday, July 16th at 11:00am. 

The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday between the hours of 4:00 – 7:00pm.
