Obituary of Robert Kretchko

  New Milford – Mr. Robert E. Kretchko, age 66, of New Milford, died Wednesday November 6, 2019 at Danbury Regional Hospice. He was the husband of Loretta (Haddad) Kretchko.

   Mr. Kretchko was born March 13, 1953 in White Plains, New York, son of the late Edward John and Kathleen (Marafino) Kretchko. Bob and Loretta own Bob Kretchko Antiques, where they have worked side by side for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed antiques, classic movies, walking his dogs Tallulah and Isaac and camping in his vintage Volkswagen Rialta with his granddaughters. He recently became a paid actor as the character “Bronco Bob Dawson” in the movie Law of the Badge, an old time Western currently in production.

    In addition to his wife Loretta, Mr. Kretchko is survived by his step sons: Myles Collins and his wife Tamara of New Milford and Ryan Collins and his partner Samantha Kazlauskas of Warren, his sister: Janine Danzi of Manchester, N.H., his grandchildren: Alexis Collins and Giesela Collins, his sister in law: Tina Oviiatt and her husband E. Buck Oviatt, his brother in law: Paul Haddad, his niece Lauren Skrabal, many cousins and many close friends.

    A memorial service will be held on Sunday November 17, 2019 at 4 p.m. at the New Preston Congregational Church, 15 Church St. New Preston. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Danbury, The New Milford Historical Society and Museum or the Children’s Center of New Milford.
