Obituary of Dolores Elizabeth Pratt

Dolores Elizabeth Pratt
Dolores Pratt, 88 of Danbury, beloved wife of Robert Pratt, died peacefully at Pope John Paul II Center on Friday May 24. Dolores is survived by her sister Patricia Brenan (John), her children Stephen (Amy) Wilton CT, James (Karla) Greeneville SC, Gerard Long Island NY; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dolores was born on October 12, 1930 in Rosedale, NY, child of John and Elizabeth Dubon.  Dolores married her Robert George Pratt in October of 1952. Dolores was a devoted wife and mother and was central to organizing and managing a household of 5 boys/men as the lone girl in a family of boys.  In addition, Dolores worked full time over her business career which included over 20 years for PHH Homequity in Wilton and Danbury CT, and evenings at Marshall’s department store in Danbury. Dolores was an active parishioner of St Joseph’s church in Danbury, the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Her family and friends remember her sense of humor and her perpetual flow of energy. Her children remember her persistence to not give up and her optimistic outlook in even the most difficult of times. Her belief in family values and her insatiable ability of planning family summer vacations including the grandchildren.  Her grandchildren will always remember her as “Grammie” who attended every event of their lives until she could no longer. Dolores was preceded by her son and oldest child Robert Pratt (Cheryl), and older brother John Dubon (Carol). The family would like to thank all the staff and administration at Pope John Paul II Center in Danbury CT; for the excellent and compassionate care Dolores has received over the past 10+ years.  The care that they provided made a quality of life difference for everyone.

All are welcome to attend a celebration of Dolores’s life on Wednesday June 19th, 2019 at St Joseph’s Church in Danbury, CT, at 10am.  All Memorial donations may be made to the Pope John Paul II Center or the Alzheimer's Associationhttps://www.alz.org/nca/donate.
