Obituary of Janos "John" Pap-Nemes

 

Janos (John) Pap-Nemes of  Danbury, passed away peacefully at the Danbury Hospital after a brief illness.  He was born July 23,1929 in Vors, Hungary son of  the late Janos and Margit (Mate) Pap-Nemes.  He was a loving husband  of 54 years to Lilo (Brunner) Pap-Nemes and father to Gabriele Orbanic and Gregory Pap-Nemes. He was also  Nagypapa  (Opa) to Gabriele's children  Angelo, Kira, and Nicole Spaziani, and Greg's daughter Amanda Pap-Nemes.  Amanda along with her fiancé Daniel Bozarth blessed him with a great-granddaughter Olivia Bozarth.   

 

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and enjoyed his time with friends.

John was predeceased by his sisters Annus Farkas and Margit Hojgato of  Hungary.  He is survived by a nephew Aladar Farkas and family of Hungary.

He is also survived by brothers- in-law Heinz Brunner his wife Waltraud along with Heinz's son his nephew Frank Brunner and family of Florida and Gerhard  (Jerry) Brunner of Danbury.

 

John left Hungary in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution, and after a brief stay in Austria emigrated to the United States in early 1957. He met his wife Lilo, a classmate, while learning English in the old Danbury High School.  Lilo emigrated also with her family from Germany in 1957.  They have been long time members of the Arion Singing Society.

 

A Memorial  Services will take place on Thursday, August 9th at 11:00am at the Cornell Memorial Home,  247 White Street, Danbury.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Handy Dandyman, 26 Shamrock Drive, Brookfield, CT 06804
