Obituary of Christine Fusek
Danbury - Mrs. Christine (Simek) Fusek, better known as Nannie, age 93, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Friday July 6, 2018 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Fusek, Jr.
Mrs. Fusek was born July 2, 1925 in Danbury, daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine (Drska) Simek. She was retired after working for many years in the mailroom at Western Connecticut State University, also formerly worked at Barden Inc. and was a lifelong member and member of WELCA at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Danbury. She was the last surviving member of the Simek family which owned the property that is now Commerce Park in Danbury. She was a member of the Sokol Lodge #30 and enjoyed taking trips to Mohegan Sun. She loved and cherished her family and faith above all else. Her tender heart and caring nature made the good times better and the hard times easier for everyone she knew. Her child-like smile when she had a sweet treat and her devotion to her family will be missed every day.
Mrs. Fusek is survived by her children: John Richard "Rick" Fusek and his wife Margaret "Peggy" Fusek of New Milford and Kristie Ganly of Danbury, her grandchildren: Chelsea Bedard and her husband Rob, Mallory Ganly, and Dana Fusek, her in laws: Edward and Jean Fusek of Danbury, Paul and Mary Sue Fusek of Danbury, Emil and Jacqueline Fusek of Redding, Ruth Locke of Bethel, Irene Fusek of Danbury, Alice Jurenka of Danbury, Betty Fusek of Danbury and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son in law: Edward Robert "Bob" Ganly and seven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Fusek's family will receive relatives and friends at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 44 Spring St. Danbury, on Tuesday July 10, 2018 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at 11 AM. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Danbury. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury is in charge of arrangements
