Obituary of Geraldine Camille Strusky
Geraldine "Geri" Camille Strusky age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at Regional Hospice in Danbury surrounded by her family. Geri was born on December 20, 1927 in Danbury to the late George and Theresa (Baldasare) Waterman. She was the loving wife of the late Stanley Strusky.
Geri graduated Danbury High School Class of 1945. She worked as a Manager for the Southern New England Telephone Company retiring after many years. Geri was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Danbury and enjoyed trips to the casino and hanging out at the Danbury Fair Mall. Most of all, Geri loved spending time with her family.
Geri was a wonderful woman. She always presented herself with charm, grace and style. Geri's family and friends meant the world to her. Her happiness was making sure everybody around her was happy. Geri is at peace now with her beloved husband, Stanley.
Geri will be sadly missed by her children: Susan Poulter and her husband, Wayne of New Milford, and Stanley Strusky and his wife, Maureen of South Carolina; Daughter-in-law Phyllis Strusky of North Carolina; Sisters: Jeanette DeFazio and her husband, Bernard of Danbury and Patricia Cerno and her husband, Emil of Bridgewater; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children. In addition to her husband and parents, Geri was predeceased by her son Steven Strusky and her brother Sonny Waterman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury on Thursday June 14, 2018 between the hours of 5:00 -7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geri's honor to either Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 12 Cottage St., Danbury 06810 or Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810.
Geri's family would like to thank the Danbury Hospital's ER and 8th Floor staff along with the staff at Regional Hospice for their compassionate care during her illness.
