Obituary of George Anthus Oldham

George Anthus Oldham, 89, of Brookfield, husband of the late Nancy (Rae) Oldham, died peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018.  He was born in Bedford, Indiana on September 23, 1928, son of the late Anthus Dewey and Bernadine Ann(Bullock) Oldham.  He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. 

 

Mr. Oldham was a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving during the Korean War. 

 

He worked for many years in Management Information Systems for North American Philips.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  Upon retirement he took pride in meticulously caring for his home, yard, and gardens. 

 

 Mr. Oldham was a member of the Brookfield Senior Center who enjoyed being involved in their activities, especially playing poker. 

 

Much loved by his family George will be sadly missed by his daughter, Elizabeth "Lisa" Oldham of Palo Alto, CA; son, Robert Anthus Oldham and his wife, Catherine of Lapeyrouse Fossat, France; his two grandchildren, Laureen Mathilde Oldham and Morgan Ethan Oldham; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

 

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Rosemary Manuel and Kathryn Sterker. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday, May 11th at 10:30am.  Burial will follow in Central Cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning between 9:30 and 10:30am.
