Obituary of Peter Setaro
Peter A. Setaro, Sr., 109, a lifelong Danbury resident, husband of the late Agnes (Volpe) Setaro, died peacefully at his home with his family by his side, on Thursday, May 2, 2018. He was born on March 31, 1909, son of the late Angelo and Caroline Lillian (Rizzo) Setaro. He was proud to call Danbury his home for more than a century, and was quite possibly its oldest living resident.
Peter worked for Harry McLaughlin Hat Shop as a foreman of the B machines for many years and retired from Amphenol at the age of 62.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was the most important part of his life. He was blessed to remain in his home until his passing due to the loving care of his son, Peter Jr., and many devoted family members.
He had a wonderful love of animals and cared for many.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Charles A. Setaro and Peter A. Setaro, Jr.; his five grandchildren, Charles A Setaro and his wife, Anne Marie, Robert Peter Setaro and his wife, Donna, Suzanne Mallozzi and her husband, Mark, John Setaro and Karen Bambino; and his six great grandchildren, AJ, Christine, Caitlin, Michelle, Andon, and Victoria. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his two daughters-in-law, Joan and Carol Setaro; his brothers, Charles, Dominic, and Mickey; and his sister, Jennie Dalessio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 7th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
