Obituary of Anne Rosaline Kakos
Anne Rosaline Kakos, 92 years, of New Fairfield, passed away on Friday March 9, 2018. She was born on Sunday December 27, 1925 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Samuel and Kata (née Timko) Mandzak.
Anne was married to Michael J. Kakos who predeceased her in 1985. Anne's nursing career started when she was 19 and inducted into the U.S. Cadette Nurse Core during WWII. She then became a Registered Nurse and spent her the early part of her career as a vising nurse in New York City. She was also a RN at a variety of Yonkers, NY Hospitals and finally spent 20 years as a School Nurse and Health Teacher in the Yonkers Public School system.
Anne will be sadly missed by her four children; Michael Kakos (Maureen), Edward Kakos (Camie), Rosanne Kakos-Main (Jeffery) and Stephen Kakos (Rose-partner). She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Jessie Lynn, Katie Mae, Michael, Valerie, Alison and her two surviving sisers Mary and Kay Baker. She was pre-deceased by her three brothers John, George and Michael Mandzak.
Service will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 10:30 AM at St. Edward The Confessor Church, Route 39, New Fairfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street, Danbury. Anne's Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 14 at St. Joseph Cemetery 209 Truman Ave, Yonkers, NY.
