Obituary of Phyllis A Talty
Danbury - Mrs. Phyllis A. (DeGennaro) Talty, age 92, of Danbury, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday February 13, 2018. She was the widow of John T. Talty.
Mrs. Talty was born May 22, 1925 in Manhattan, N.Y. daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Massa) DeGennaro. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunt.
Mrs. Talty is survived by her daughters: Patricia Valiska and her husband John of Danbury and Marybeth Rainey of Stony Point, N.Y, her son: John Talty and his wife Lesley of Texas, her grandchildren: Erin, Thomas, Kate, Andrew and Phillip, her great grandchildren: Jerry and Teo, her sister in law and brother in law: Ann and Larry Rinaldi of Charlestown, Ma. and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis had a true love for life. After raising her family in New York, she and John enjoyed their retirement in Florida. Phyllis and John lived a full life in Florida, always surrounded by family and friends. She was always quick to suggest a get together, and thought life was better when loved ones were around.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday February 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury. Phyllis' family will receive family and friends on Friday February 16, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.
