Obituary of David Alexander Egbert

David Egbert went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2018.  David was the husband of his beloved wife Shannon and the son of William and Nancy Egbert from Bethel, CT.  David and Shannon were best friends and did everything together ever since they met in 1987.  He leaves here his seven deeply-loved children: Hannah, Alyssa, Benjamin, Joshua, Caleb, Madelyn, and Olivia.  He was so proud of and loved spending time with them. He also leaves his cherished sisters Sharie and Kimberly, Sharie’s husband Nathan, and his 12 dear nephews and nieces.

David loved going to the movies: he would be at many opening night premiers with his kids and Ron Lawlor.  He loved hiking: the Reservoir and Huntington Park were his favorite local hiking spots, especially with his kids and dog.  David loved the annual extended-family vacations ranging from Maine to Delaware: he loved having extended-family all together.

David was also known to many as “Coach Dave”.  Oh, how he loved coaching his JV and Varsity girls basketball teams at Christian Life Academy for 4 years.  In 2017, his Varsity girls went undefeated.

David was a self-starter.  He owned his own business, Egbert Tile, at the age of 19.  He did many excellent tile jobs with amazing talent.  In 1997, he went to work with his parents at Typographic Services and later transitioned to owning the business.  He always cared about the work he did there. 

Most importantly, David loved the Lord, his Savior, with whom he is now resting in perfect health.  David was faithful in following Jesus and pointing his family to Christ.

A memorial service will be at 11 AM on Saturday Feb. 3, at First Assembly of God, Brookfield.
