Obituary of Najla Sabbagh
Najla Sabbagh, 92, of Danbury, wife of the late Emil Sabbagh, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, January 28, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Nazareth Palestine on February 9, 1925, daughter of Jirias and Soria (Salman) Sabbagh.
Mrs. Sabbagh was a talented couture seamstress who loved creating patterns and clothing in various areas of the fashion industry and making alterations for Sylvia Barry in Danbury. Her past employment also included Barden Corp, as well as Davis and Geck.
She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Badia Stevenson and her husband Robert, Naheel Norton and her husband, James; her grandchildren, Ashley Stevenson and her husband, Joseph Arnson, Robert Stevenson, Jr., and James Norton; and her great granddaughter, Isabella "Bella" Arnson. She is also survived by three siblings in the Middle East, her sister, Marie Efremides,her husband, Pete and their two children. Her aunt, Malaky Sabbagh wife of the late Raja Sabbagh, her niece Toni DeSoto, other nephews and several cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 1240 Route 22, Brewster, NY on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:30pm.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Saturday between the hours of 9:30-11:00am. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
