Obituary of Anne Stiles Hardin
Anne (Stiles) Hardin, 99, formerly of Brookfield, wife of the late Henry “Joe” Hardin, died peacefully at Shady Knoll in Seymour, on Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was born in Davidson, NC on April 3, 1918, daughter of the late Charles and Susan (Armour) Stiles. She was a longtime member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield and loved singing with the church choir.
Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was known for her open arms and open heart, welcoming anyone into her home who needed her kindness. She was a talented seamstress who made beautiful clothing for herself and her family. She also enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader.
She will be sadly missed by her three daughters Betsy Perry, Leslie Bojarski and her husband, Victor, Jo Anne Gauss and her husband, Rev. Ronald; her nine surviving grandchildren (Susan, Michael, Mary, Matt, Josh, Freddy, David, Vikki and Cindy) and sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Porter Gibson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Henry R. Hardin; her granddaughters, Cynthia Stratton and Nicole Stratton; and her sister, Cynthia Stiles.
Funeral Services will be held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00am. Burial Services with the family will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00am.
