Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Schier

Dorothy Elizabeth (Pliska) Schier, 90, of Danbury passed away Monday January 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Danbury on December 22, 1927 to the late George J. and Anna Mitrolka Pliska.  She was  married to the late Edward Anthony Schier who passed away in 1983.

Dorothy graduated from Danbury High School with Honors.  Dorothy worked as an Office Manager for  Delta Electric and Dinto Electric prior to her retirement.  She was a member of St.  Gregory the Great Church in Danbury and volunteered for many years at Danbury Health Care.  Dorothy will be best remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughters: Patricia S. Pudelka of Windsor Locks and Joan F. Gee and her husband Robert of Seymour; Grandchildren: Megan R. Pudelka, Michael J. Pudelka, Todd Edward Fowler and his wife, Emily, and Brianna E. Gee;  and Great-granddaughter: Chloe Ann Fowler.  Dorothy also leaves behind her loving friend, Angela Almasy and dear neighbor, Betty Cook.

 In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers: George, Michael, Andrew, William, Joseph, John and Paul Pliska and sisters: Anna Thomas Duda and Mary Rajcok.

Dorothy's family would like to thank New England Home Care of Danbury, especially Evy Brescia and Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut for their outstanding care. 

All funeral services are private. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at the convenience of the family.
