Obituary of Eileen Dorothea Marcucilli
Eileen D. Marcucilli, age 82 of Bethel, formerly of Port Charlotte, FL died on Oct 1st at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Alfred A. Marcucilli.
Eileen was born March 29, 1935 in Bronx, NY the daughter of the late Irving and Blanche (Jatoft) Smith. Raised and educated in Bronx, she married her husband Alfred at the age of 22, and was a Bethel resident before moving to Port Charlotte, FL 22 years ago. She and her husband had recently moved back to Bethel to be closer to their children. Eileen had worked in retail sales, and enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. She was known for the beautiful afghans she had made for family and friends.
In addition to her husband Alfred of 60 years, Eileen is survived by her three daughters: Patricia Schirmer and her husband Cliff of New Milford, Joanna Markward and her husband Rayburn of Bethel, and Allison Burdick and her husband Mike of Brookfield, one brother: Edward Smith of Long Island, NY ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one nephew. Eileen was predeceased by her sons, Alfred and Anthony Marcucilli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday October 7th at Saint Mary Church, Bethel. A private interment will take place at the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Friday October 6th from 6 thru 8 pm.
Memorial contributions are requested to be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
