Obituary of Victor Joseph Kolwicz
Victor Joseph Kolwicz, 90, of Danbury passed away at Regional Hospice on Tuesday October 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Victor was born May 2, 1927 in Danbury to the late Walter and Celia Zelinski Kolwicz. Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Muriel Lajoie Kolwicz.
Mr. Kolwicz proudly served his country in the Navy during WWll. After the war he worked as a machinist for Consolidated Controls which later became Eaton Corp. He enjoyed bowling on Consolidated Controls team, playing bocce ball and visiting the casino. Victor especially enjoyed playing cards with his family during holiday family gatherings.
In addition to Victor's wife, Muriel, he will be sadly missed by his children: Roland Kolwicz and his wife Maureen of Massachusetts and Lynelle Garvey and her husband, James of Southbury; Granddaughter: Alexandria Kolwicz; his brother: Emil Kolwicz of Ohio and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Victor was predeceased by his parents and brothers: Edwin, Louis and Eugene Kolwicz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 6, 2017 at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 46 Stone St. Danbury. Please meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury on Thursday October 5, 2017 from 5-8pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Victor's name to Special Olympics, 2666 State St. #1, Hamden, CT 06517.
