Obituary of Kathleen Mary Hafker
Kathleen M. (Marafino) Hafker, 94, of New Milford, formerly of Litchfield, NH, died peacefully at Village Crest on Friday, September 22nd. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on July 15, 1923, daughter of the late Daniel and Ada (Clinker) Marafino. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Kretchko.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for the New York State Attorney Office, than moved to Nashua, NH. Kathleen was a member of the Litchfield Community Church Presbyterian in New Hampshire. She had served as a deacon in the church, loved bible study, and being a part of the church community.
She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint, an avid reader and having her friends over for tea. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to England, Florida, and out West.
Kathleen loved her family dearly and was happiest when spending time with them. She surrounded herself with beloved photos of the many memories she shared with her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Robert Kretchko and his wife, Loretta of New Milford; her daughter, Janine Danzi of Litchfield, NH; and her granddaughter, Lauren Skrabal and her husband, David of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by two step grandsons Ryan Collins and Myles Collins with his wife Tamara Collins; and by two step great granddaughters, Alexis and Gisela Collins.
A Memorial Service will be held graveside at 1:30pm on Sunday, October 15th at Center Cemetery, New Milford.
