Obituary of John G Emond
John G. Emond, 68, of Thomaston, beloved husband of Susan K (Burroughs) Emond, died at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, on Friday, March 31st. He was born in Fall River, MA on February 11, 1949, son Wanda (Albini) Emond of Brookfield and the late Gerard J. Emond. He received a Bachelor Degree of Art from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL.
John retired as a helicopter mechanic from Sikorsky Aircraft after more than 20 years of employment.
John enjoyed being a member of the Brookfield community throughout his childhood and into his adult years. He then made his home in Thomaston for more than 30 years.
He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed being involved in dog and cat rescue.
In addition to his mother, Wanda, and his cherished wife, Susan K. Emond, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Susan Champagne of Brookfield, and his numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to him! John was known to them as their Uncle Puppy! An endearment that he is known by to this day! He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Emond.
Memorial Services will be held privately.
