Obituary of Chester P. Baccari

Chester P. Baccari, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Anne (Silk) Baccari, died peacefully at Masonicare of Newtown on Saturday, December 17th. He was born in Ossining, NY on March 22, 1924, son of the late Oreste and Adele (Cretara) Baccari. He was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. He was a founding member of the Danbury Men's Club. Mr. Baccari was a Veteran of World War II, proudly serving with the United States Army Airforce, stationed on Ascension Island. He spent his entire career working for IBM Corporation as an electrical engineer. Mr. Baccari was a man of many talents, he was a writer, he was inventor/patent holder, and could fix anything and everything. He was an artist who enjoyed painting still life in both oil and watercolors. Upon retirement, he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden or fishing off the dock at his home on Candlewood Lake. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family. In addition to his cherished wife of 68 years, Anne, he will be sadly missed by his son, Thomas "TJ" Baccari and his wife, Kathy; his daughters, Carol Baccari, Lynn Brush and her husband, Ben, Sandy Strohm and her husband, Bob; his three grandchildren, Jenny and Stephanie Brush, and Jessica Fischer and her husband, Jon. He also leaves behind one of his six sisters, Lola DiPillo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 21st at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Tuesday between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
