Obituary of David B. Wahlstrom
David B. Wahlstrom, 86, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Helen (Repko) Wahlstrom, died on Wednesday, November 23rd at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Long Island, NY on July 2, 1930, the son of the late Oscar and Lenore (Burdick) Wahlstrom. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Brookfield.
David was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Navy. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans.
He worked for many years as a customer service representative for Sikorsy in Stratford.
He and Helen made their home on Candlewood Lake where he could often be found waterskiing, swimming, happily mowing his lawn or reading a good book. He also enjoyed snow skiing at the family vacation home in Vermont.
In addition to his wife, of 59 years, Helen, he will be sadly missed by his daughter, Laurene Beattie of New Milford; his grandchildren, David R. Beattie and his wife Katelyn of New Milford and Samantha A. Beattie and her partner Benjamin O'Neill of Australia. He is also survived by his sisters, Martina and Lenore Ann; and his "adopted daughter," Elizabeth Crooks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 159 Whisconier Rd, Brookfield. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.
