Obituary of Isabel Jasmin

Isabel (Short) Jasmin January 16, 1927 - January 23, 2005 Isabel (Short) Jasmin, 78, of Forty Acre Mountain Road, Brookfield, wife of the late Joseph Jasmin, Sr., died at Ashlar of Newtown, on Sunday, January 23rd. She was born in Sharon, CT on January 16, 1927, daughter of the late Raymond and Flora Short. She was a graduate of Sharon High School. Mrs. Jasmin made her home in the Danbury Community for more than 60 years. During World War II she worked in a local factory. She later owned and operated the antique shop, Odds & Ends on South Main Street for fifteen years. She was a loving and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed dancing, the casinos, and betting on the horses. She was very proud to be a direct descendant of the Mohawk Tribe. She will be sadly missed by her son, Joseph "Jazz" W. Jasmin and his wife, Kathleen of Brookfield; her four daughters, Linda Moran and her husband Michael of Florida, Cheryl Caron and her husband Louis of New Milford, Jacqueline Bearce and her husband Peter of Sandy Hook, and Cindi Aragi and her husband Alan of Brookfield; her grandchildren, Heather Rine, Nicole Aragi, Joseph Aragi, and Joseph Lanigan. She is also survived by her brother, Albert Short and his wife, Midge of Danbury and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Short. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, January 27th at 7:30pm with the Rev. Leo McIllrath officiating. Friends may call on Thursday Evening between the hours of 6 and 7:30pm at the funeral home.
