Michael J. Greco, age 87 of New Milford died on Sunday at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Taffurelli) Greco.
Michael was born April 3, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Louis and Rose (Pece) Greco. Raised and educated in Brooklyn, Michael served in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Alongside his father and two brothers, Michael was co-owner of the Midhattan Woodworking Corp. until the time of his retirement.
Following his retirement, Michael and his wife Barbara moved to New Milford in 1992 where they were parishioners of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, and spent the winter months in Pompano Beach, FL. Michael was a former member of the American Legion Post 458 in Ardsley, NY, and the Ardsley Rollers Bowling League. He was a fan of the NY Yankees, and enjoyed both ballroom and Latin dancing.
Michael is survived by his children, Karen A. Greco of Bedford Hills, NY, Michael K. Greco and his wife Carole Alonza Greco of Briarcliff Manor, NY, one grandson Owen Greco, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday August 20th at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, New Milford. Entombment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York. Funeral Information
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Wednesday August 19th from 4 thru 8 pm. Donations Information
