Obituary of Connor and Meghan DelVecchio Nicola

Nicola, Connor and Meghan DelVecchio July 11, 2004 Nicola Ann (Gaffney) DelVecchio of Hanover Ridge Road, Brookfield, devoted wife of Jeffrey DelVecchio, died as the result of an automobile accident on Sunday, July 11th, at the age of 42. She and her children, Connor and Meghan were welcomed into the arms of the Lord together. She was born in Huntingdon, England, daughter of James T. and Pamela (Bradford) Gaffney of Jonesboro, GA. She was a graduate of Wilton High School, Class of 1979. Nicola worked as a waitress for the Harvest Restaurant in Brookfield, was the former manager of the American Legion Frank C. Godfry Post 12 in Norwalk. She was a current member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the American Legion in Norwalk, and the Congregational Church of Brookfield. Most importantly Nicola was a dedicated wife and mother to Connor and Meghan, volunteering at their schools, Huckleberry School and Country Kids, both in Brookfield. She was involved in the many activities at Master Hwang's Tae Kwon Do, and the Vacation Bible School. Connor James DelVecchio,8, was born in Norwalk on June 13, 1996. He was a student at Huckleberry Hill School in Brookfield. He was a member of the Junior Choir of the Congregational Church of Brookfield and was a red belt at Master Hwang's Tae Kwon Do. Meghan Irini DelVecchio would have celebrated her fifth birthday on Monday. Meghan was born in Norwalk on July 12, 1999. She had graduated from Country Kids Preschool and enjoyed taking martial arts at Hwang's Tae Kwon Do. Nicola, Connor and Meghan will be sadly missed by their husband/father Jeffrey; Connor and Meghan's brothers, Jason DelVecchio and his wife, Alisa of Northford, Joshua DelVecchio and his wife Monique of Indian Head, M.O.; grandchildren/nieces Madison and Isabella DelVecchio; grandparents, James T. and Pamela Gaffney, Robert & Irini DelVecchio of Milford; close family members, Paul Gaffney of Douglasville, GA.; Sharon Gaffney-Figuerido and her husband, Frank of Westfield, MA.; and Kirsten Waldren and her husband, Jessie of Georgia; many brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Memorial Service for Nicola, Connor and Meghan, will be held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield on Saturday, July 17th at 11:00am. Cremation and interment will take place at the convenience of the family. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
