Kathryn H. Wixted December 02, 1921 - March 04, 2005 Kathryn H. Wixted, 83, of Winter Springs, Fl., formally of Danbury, passed away on March 4, 2005 in Winter Park, Fl. She was born in Philadelphia, PA. to Thomas and Catharine M. Murphy on December 2, 1921. Kathryn is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, John Wixted of Winter Springs, Fl; daughters Kathleen W. Rose of New Milford, Patricia W. Walrath of Brookfield, Jane H. Weeks of Fern Park, Fl, Cynthia W. Halas of Harwinton; her son, Gene E. Weeks of Bristol, RI; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Hickey. Kathryn owned and operated the first Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Danbury. For several years, she was a real estate agent with Thomas Wixted Real Estate Agency. In 1985 she and her husband, John, owned and operated Kay's Real Estate Agency in Danbury. Kathryn, better known as Kay, was extremely devoted to her husband, John, her five children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was lovingly known as Mom and Nonnie Kay, thoroughly enjoyed her daily visits from her local family. After moving to Florida in 1988, one of her greatest pleasures was to return to the Danbury area for family holiday celebrations and weddings. These special occasions brought great joy to Kathryn. Her large and growing family was the highlight of her life. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Saturday, March 12th at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between the hours of 9:30 and 10:30am on Saturday. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name at Hanahoe Memorial Children's Clinic, 205 Main Street. Danbury, CT. 06810.
