Obituary of Edward Arthur Anderson

Edward Arthur Anderson July 05, 1923 - February 01, 2005 Edward Arthur Anderson died Thursday, February 1st at The Bethel Health Care Center in Bethel at the age of 81. He was a resident of Station Road in Brookfield. Mr. Anderson was born in Elgin, Ill on July 5, 1923, son of the late Arthur and Lillian Anderson. He was a graduate of Illinois State Normal College and went on to be a Professor of Art at the University of Florida. During his career Mr. Anderson was a member of the Artist and Teachers at the Famous Artist School in Westport, very active in Art Associations in Sherman and Housatonic Art Leagues. He had exhibited some of his work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He owned and operated his own Art Studio in Brookfield from the 1960's until the 1990's. He was co-founder of the Danbury Academy of the Arts. He was a member of "Scan" and the "Lost Squadron Club" of WW II Veterans. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and taught Low Level Flying in B25's. Mr. Anderson is survived by his son, Capt. Reid Anderson, UASF Ret. And his wife Lesley of Old Weston,, England; five grandchildren and a sister, June Michel of Elgin, Ill.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at Middletown Veteran Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, February 3rd at 1:45pm with Military Honors. There are no calling hours.
