John L. Stone
April 05, 1929 - December 19, 2010
John L. Stone, lovingly known as "Stoney" or "Captain Stone," formerly of The Villages at Brookfield Commons, died at Masonicare in Newtown on Sunday, December 19th. He was born in New York on April 5, 1929, son of the late Louis A. and Dorothea (Clausen) Stone.
Stoney was a Veteran serving with the United States Army. He was a life time member of the South Norwalk Boat Club as well as a Member of the Teamster Union and the Freemasons'. He was a long time resident of Temperance Island in Ram Island Bay, Norwalk.
He is survived by his two daughters, Anne Broadmeyer and her husband, Mark of Brookfield, and Julia Fettig and her husband, John of South Carolina; his two grandchildren, Caetlin and Derek Broadmeyer; and his brother, Louis A. "Peter" Stone, Jr. of Westport. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 23rd at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
