Obituary of Arthur M. Stieber

Arthur M. Stieber January 15, 1914 - March 01, 2005 Arthur M. Stieber of Ball Pond Road, Danbury, devoted husband of Helen Maria (Loormann) Stieber, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, March 1st at the age of 91. He was born in Danbury on January 15, 1914 and was a graduate of Henry Abbot Tech. Mr. Stieber was a Veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. He worked as an Inspector in quality control for Perkin-Elmer in Danbury, retiring after 15 years. He previously worked as an inspector for Dictaphone for many years. A devoted lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, Mr. Stieber was very active in all aspects of Church life. He spent many years in charge of Brail Book Binding, locally, for the Missouri Synod. He was responsible, along with his wife and sister-in-law, Irene Loorman, for binding more than 7,800 books. In addition to his cherished wife of 47 years, Helen, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Irene Loorman of Danbury; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danbury, on Sunday, March 6th at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church between 1:00 and 2:00pm.
