Obituary of Martin F. Ruopp

Martin F. Ruopp November 04, 1910 - February 05, 2005 Martin F. Ruopp, 94, formerly of Warner Road, Bridgewater, husband of the late Ethel (Ryan) Ruopp, died on February 5, 2005. He was born in Danbury on November 4, 1910, son of the late J. George and Anna (Schulze) Ruopp. He was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School, Danbury High School, Class of 1929, and the Connecticut Trade School. Mr. Ruopp was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army as an Interrogations Officer. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He worked for Mallory Hat Company from 1929 until 1942 as a Cost Accountant. He later worked in machine maintenance for Scovill in New Milford. He was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Upon making his home in Bridgewater, he was a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Milford and was active the Lutheran Laymen's League. He is survived by his three brothers, Theodore of Chicago, Paul Ruopp and his wife, Augusta of Danbury, Frederick Ruopp and Anita, with whom he had made his home in Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lenoir (Laakman) Ruopp; his brothers, Edward and Ernest Ruopp; and his sisters, Dorothea Grube, Christa Lang, Lillian Bardo, and Helen Ruopp. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 10th at 11:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Street, Danbury. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday between 10 and 11:00am.
