Obituary of Jon M. Petrovick

Jon M. Petrovick April 28, 1983 - March 15, 2011 Jon M. Petrovick, 27, of Brookfield , beloved son of Mary Carroll of Brookfield, and Michael Petrovick of Summerville, SC, died at his home on Tuesday, March 15th. He was born in Danbury on April 28, 1983 and was a 2008 graduate of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Abbott Tech. Jon had an intense love for all living creatures. He was known to frequently go out of his way to help hurt or injured animals and touched the lives of many people with his deep, genuine friendships. He was a talented skateboarder, snowboarder and surfer, and was also an avid reader who loved to study philosophy and history. His happiest moments in life were the times spent with his son, Luca. In addition to his parents, Mary and Michael, he will be sadly missed by his son, Luca Michael Vaast-Petrovick of Newtown ; his sister, Sasha Petrovick of Danbury; and his maternal grandmother, Sophie "Nana" Carroll of Newtown; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Information A Celebration of Jon's life will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday, March 18th. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm. A service will be held at 7:15pm, directly following the calling hours. Cremation and interment will take place at the direction of the family. Donations Information Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the benefit trust for his son, Luca, or to Wildlife in Crisis, PO Box 1246 , Weston , CT 06883, where he would often bring injured animals to be rehabilitated.
