Obituary of Doris Anne Neilson

Doris Anne Neilson November 05, 1927 - February 02, 2005 Doris Anne Neilson age 77 formally of Main Street, Danbury died at Harborside Glenhill Nursing home on Wednesday, February 2, 2005. Mrs. Neilson was the wife of Elmer F. Neilson who preceeded her in death in 1983. Doris was born on November 5, 1927 daughter of the late John and Helen (Jenks) McCahey in Saylesville, Rhode Island. In 1939 she came to the Danbury area and graduated from New Milford High School. On October 27, 1951 she married Elmer Neilson and they spent many loving years together raising their two sons. In her later years Doris worked in Customer Service for Grolier until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury, and enjoyed reading in her spare time. Mostly she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Doris will be sadly missed by her two sons: Robert and his wife Karen Neilson of Torrington, CT and James and his wife Linda Neilson on Warrington, PA. Three beloved grandchildren: Kathleen Neilson of Cromwell, CT, Kristyn Neilson of New York City, and John "Jack" Neilson of Warrington, PA. Mrs. Neilson is also survived by one sister: Helen Stack of New Milford, CT. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church in Danbury at 11:00am on Saturday, February 5, 2005.
