Obituary of Marjorie Russell McLean

Marjorie Russell McLean December 01, 1918 - August 21, 2004 Marjorie Russell McLean age 85 died at her home in Brookfield on Saturday, August 21, 2004. She was the wife of the late James McLean and lived at Silvermine Manor in Brookfield. Mrs. McLean was born in Iagatpuri India December 1, 1918 daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Tomlinson) Anderson. She received her early education in India and High School in Scotland. In her youth she played womans field hockey and track and ran for Scotland in the Common Wealth Games. After her marriage she and her husband traveled and lived through Europe while he was employed with the United Nations. They moved to the United States in 1952 and settled in the Greenwich area. While living there Mrs. McLean enjoyed golf and played for the Metropolitan Golf Association in the Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich. She and her husband later retired in Brookfield in 1973. Mrs. McLean was employed as a Bookkeeper at General Water Works in Newtown. She then worked at H&R Block in Danbury. Mrs. McLean is survived by her son Ian McLean of Stormville, New York. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 10:30am at the Brookfield Funeral Home , 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, CT 06804. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10:00AM .
