Obituary of Bernard Lapan

Bernard Lapan February 09, 1920 - October 25, 2003 Bernard Lapan, of Elizabeth Road, Danbury, devoted husband of the late Jeanette (Shail) Lapan, died Saturday, October 25th at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Williamstown, MA., on February 9, 1920, son of the late Hermidas and MaryJane (Yard) Lapan. Mr. Lapan was a graduate of Drury High School in Massachusetts. He was a high school track star and maintained full honors all four years. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was a self employed plumber for over fifty years, owning and operating K & L Plumbing and Heating in Danbury. Mr. Lapan was a devoted grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, nature and outdoor activities. He was a member of the Candlewood Vista Association. He will be sadly missed by two sons, Kim Lapan of Lake City, Fla., and James Lapan of Danbury; three grandchildren, Ashley, Kirk and Karl Lapan. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Lapan and James Lapan; a sister, Beulah Swift; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Kerry Lapan; a granddaughter, Megan Lapan; a brother, Roger Lapan and sister, Vera Cook Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, October 31st, at 1:30pm. Deacon Daniel Myott of St. Gregory the Great Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 30th between the hours of 5 and 8pm.
