Obituary of Philomena M. Kravarik

Philomena M. (Cipolla) Kravarik October 17, 1932 - April 07, 2005 Philomena M. (Cipolla) Kravarik, 72, of Hunting Ridge Road, Brookfield, devoted wife of John "Jack" Kravarik, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, April 7th. She was born in the family home on Kellogg St., Brookfield, on October 17, 1932, daughter of the late Frank and Tessie (Caperella) Cipolla. She was a lifelong resident of Brookfield, and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1950. Mrs. Kravarik worked as a secretary for Unimation in Danbury, and later retired as a Records Clerk for the Bethel Police Department. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookfield, and enjoyed baking and breaking bread with her church, family, and friends. A talented and creative seamstress, she loved her position as "private seamstress" to her loved ones and was an avid gardener. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed playing the organ for her family, especially on Christmas Eve. Her door was always open to all and there was always room for one more at the table. Her contagious laughter will be sorely missed. In addition to her husband of 51 years, Jack, she is survived by her son, William J. Kravarik and his wife, Alice of Newtown; her daughter, Linda Cyr and her husband Larry of Bethel; granddaughters, Kellie Kravarik of Newtown and Laurel Cyr of Bethel. She is also survived by Terry Carloni of Lake Carmel NY , Thomas Kravarik and his wife Leila of Bakersfield CA; her sisters, Rose Prisciantelli of New Milford, Frances "Fritz" Lapine of Danbury, and Antoinette "Ginny" Fotion of Ansonia; her brothers, Dan Cipolla of Bridgewater, and Frank Cipolla, Jr. of Brookfield; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, loving brothers and sisters-in-law, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bill, Albert, Nick, Joseph, John and Henry Cipolla; her sisters, Josephine "Pat" Cipolla, Lillian Damelio, Mary "Hoodie" Kriss and Theresa Adams. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookfield on Monday, April 11th at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Brookfield. The Family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Sunday, April 10th between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00pm.
