Obituary of Arline Kohler

Arline E. Kohler, age 84 of New Fairfield, died on Tuesday evening at the Regional Hospice Center, Danbury. She was the wife of the late John F. Kohler Sr.

Arline was born December 2, 1932 in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of the late Fred and Estelle (O’Rourke) Klatte. Raised and educated in New York, Arline had been a resident of New Fairfield since 1957. For many years, she volunteered her time as the sexton of the Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.  Arline was also a member of the New Fairfield Veterans Association, and assisted in the placement of flags on the graves of veterans at all of the cemeteries in New Fairfield.

Arline is survived by her children: Jeanne Murphy of Danbury, Kathy Carroll and her husband Ronald of New Fairfield, and John F. Kohler Jr. of New Milford, three brothers: Fred Klatte Jr. of CA, Bernie and Richard Klatte, both of FL, eight grandchildren: April Garcia, Lisa Murphy, Ronald, Ryan, and Christopher Carroll, Dean, Megan, and Jessica Kohler, two great grandchildren: Alexis and Nick, and several nieces and nephews. Arline was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Whitlock.

Funeral services will take place at 10:30am on Saturday July 1st at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.  Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30am until the time of the service.
