Obituary of Eugenie Stanislaw

Eugenie “Jane” Stanislaw, 95, of Brookfield, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, April 4th. She was born December 25, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Dr. John H. and Willa G. (Thompson) Reb. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Alfred University in 1943.

Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was happiest spending time with her family. Before moving to Brookfield, she was an active member of the Setauket United Methodist Church, Setauket, N.Y., where she also enjoyed volunteering and singing with the church choir. Family vacations in Ludlow, Vermont and traveling in New England, created many happy memories.

In recent years, Jane embraced being a part of the community at The Village at Brookfield Common. She especially enjoyed singing and ringing bells in the yearly Christmas Show.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Willa Philip and her husband Peter, of Danbury; her two sons, John Stanislaw and his wife Kathy, of Mt. Sinai, N.Y., and Theodore “Tee” Stanislaw of Blue Hill, ME., and five grandchildren: Heather Philip, of New Milford, Peter A. Philip and his wife Fonda, of Easton, Timothy Philip and his wife Amanda, of Andover, MA. John Henry Stanislaw and his wife Amanda, of Aquebogue, N.Y.,Theo Stanislaw of Blue Hill, ME; and one great grandchild, Kristianne Philip.

Funeral Services and burial in Green Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y., will be held privately. The Cornell Memorial Home is handling the arrangements.
