Obituary of Robert Joseph Straiton

Robert J. Straiton, age 87 of Danbury, husband of Adelaida Straiton, passed away on March 6, 2017 Bob was born September 8, 1929 in Danbury, the son of the late Walter and Rose (Coffey) Straiton. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and studied at the Capital Radio Engineering Institute and Western CT State University. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Bob was employed with the Davis and Geck Division of American Cyanamid as a senior electrical engineer, and with American Cyanamid in Puerto Rico. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his wife Adelaida, Bob is survived by his his stepchildren, Joel, Ana and Algeris Jerez, and his sister Lorraine Sturges and her husband William of New Fairfield, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his brother Walter and sister Arlyne. Friends and family will be received at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Friday March 10th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 11th at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury at 10:00am, followed by burial in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
