Obituary of Louis A. Futie Sr.
Louis A. Futie Sr., son of the late Demetrio and Marie Futia, passed away suddenly in Jacksonville, Florida on September 25 2016. He was born May 6, 1941 in Bronx, NY. He is survived by his fiancé Marcia Tozzoli of Jacksonville, FL, his former spouse Dorothea (Ehmler)Futie, of Brookfield, his brother Dan Futie and wife Che of Palmyra,VA and his six children; Laura Futie of Danbury, Robert Futie and his wife Paula of Portland, ME, Louis Futie Jr. and his wife Tara of Brookfield, Janine Lennon and her husband Scott of New Milford, Edward Futie and his wife Angie of New Milford, and Elizabeth Paola of New Milford. He will be missed by his grandchildren, John III, Jacki, Jo Ann, Jackie, Louis III, Jena, Brody, Brianna, Kyle, Marc, Haileigh and his great grandchildren Travis and Chelsey. His nieces and nephews will miss him dearly.
Louis served in the Air Force as an air plane mechanic. He was the owner of Famous Cleaners and Tailors in Bethel for over 20 years. He moved on as a tailor for New England Uniform for several years. Upon his retirement to Florida, he enjoyed a good game of golf with his sons and brother. He enjoyed going to a Mets game up north with his children and grandchildren and watching Big blue on Sundays. He loved building remote control planes, flying, crashing them, and then building more.
His wit, charm and big heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 15th at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd, Brookfield between the hours of 5:00 - 7:00pm. There are no formal services.
