Obituary of Catherine F. Vetrano
Catherine F. Vetrano, 88, of New Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Neal M. Vetrano, Sr., died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 9th. She was born in New Fairfield on June 7, 1928, daughter of the late Alfred J. and Frances (Post) Lobraico.
Catherine worked for 17 years as the clerk for the Danbury Superior Court and was a proud recipient of the Liberty Bell Award, given by the National Bar Association.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved to keep a clean home and work in her gardens. She was the ultimate hostess and enjoyed entertaining and feeding anyone who entered her home.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Lisa V. Weir and her husband, Jay, and Tina Vetrano-Krebs; her grandchildren, Michael Bahr and his wife, Natalie, Autumn Vangor and her husband, Aaron, John Weir and his wife, Hanna, Chelsea Weir and Lea Krebs; her great grandchildren, Avery Vangor, Reese and Riley Bahr. She is also survived by her sisters, Theresa Bucko, and Frances Hinkley; sisters-in-law, Beulah Politi and Rose Vetrano; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Neal, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 16th at 10:00am at Grace Family Church, 174 Mount Pleasant Rd., Newtown. Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
